Award Winning Wedding DJ

Winning awards seems to be like busses, wait for one and get two or three at same time.

It's took a decade, had several close calls but 2024 seems to be the year I can finally claim to be an award winning (wedding) DJ.

These are international awards having ran for 16 years and more importantly there not pay to enter. https://www.instagram.com/prestige_series/

On Winning an Award

I won't lie, I've often been sceptical about how awards work, it's not like people come and see you work and press the golden buzzer. These awards are given based on my client feedback, social media, mystery shopping calls and the overall presence of your business. This resonates more with me than paying a fee to buy an award.

Why North West

This was my first question. They have awards for the North of England, Yorkshire and other regions. It seems to be recognition for the work I did last year covering the west coast and lakes. I did a fair few gigs over this side of the country and obviously impressed. The fact I also travel a good distance to help cover an area that is not highly populated with high end wedding DJs.

I'll take that too. The two main reasons why I cover the Lakes region are the views and spectacular venues, and that a few years back I learned that mine is a trade that is quite sought after in the region. It made sense to stretch out and cover jobs there.

What Else Did You Win?

Well funny you should ask

I was also awarded the Quality Business Award for Best DJ in South Tyneside. Again I actually live about half a mile outside the border in Sunderland and I've done very few gigs in the area but i'll take it.

Summary

There was a time when I lusted after an award, I saw my fellow DJs getting them and using them to promote their businesses but that time came and went. It's nice to be recognised but for me happy clients and testimonials from them trump anything give by an external body. So that is where I will continue to focus my efforts, one gig at a time, smashing weddings, rocking parties...
