So what should I expect?

This post is here to give you an idea of what normally happens between the point of booking and me arriving to DJ at your wedding or event. There are a few extra steps for weddings due to needing more information and wanting to make no errors but I do equally as value my party bookings.

Once you have your confirmation it comes with planner access which you may forget about and may forget how to access, most people log on straight away and its good practice to bookmark and save the log in settings. But should you ever need I can send a reminder in a few mins so please feel free to message if needed.

Other good things to do are to mark my emails as safe so they never go to the junk folder. Then follow me on Instagram as that is where I post most often with stories, videos and news. @djandyp.uk

Right from the start you can start adding music to the planner but I'd honestly wait till about a month before to do this, please feel free to read my blog posts on selecting your music for some excellent tips on getting the party vibe right. These posts also give you other options for sending me your playlist.

I'll start to send check in emails from about 6 months to go, most have information attached. This might be about additional services, forms to be completed or reminders. I won't fully spoil them but from about a month before I'll remind you the balance payment is due and give you links to the wedding checklist and vendor information sheets. It's around this point I expect us to have to most correspondence and chats but remember you can message and chat to me at any time.

The week before if I am missing any details I'll start to send reminders and might drop a text if emails go unanswered just in case I'm in the spam folder. Normally the day before but certainly during this week I'll do my route planning, re-read any communications from yourself, the venues (or planner) and any other suppliers to make sure everything is ticked off.

On the day I pack the van, recheck the route for traffic and incidents and get any additional songs needed from the playlist. I will arrive at the venue normally about 70 mins before the booking start time so I can meet the staff, find out if things are running to time, see the setup area and workout how I am loading and setting up.

Once the turn around starts I'll get straight on it. If its a wedding you'll probably be to busy doing wedding stuff. I'll be in rigging clothes as I'll be lugging gear and crawling on floors to make sure everything is smart and tidy. If its a party you may be there setting up yourself so I'll introduce myself.

Once set up, a few photos then off to change. I'm a DJ - A man in black so thats what your looking for. I'll get some background music on and we are away...

My aim is to make the process from booking to playing the music as easy as possible. You are free to have as much or little contact as you prefer. I want it to be stress free and enjoyable. So long as I have the essential information to make the party a success I am good to go.
